Based on the observations carried out in 2018-2020, information was provided on 89 beetle species directly or indirectly related to the American black cherry. Among the xylophagous beetles developing on the American bird cherry, the Cerambycidae, of which 9 species have been found, have the largest share. Elateridae (4 species) dominated among the species hibernating or seeking shelter in wood or under the bark. Carabidae hibernate under the bark and in dead wood of Prunus serotina. Bitoma crenata (Zopheridae), Lygistopterus sanguineus (Lycidae) and Melanontus spp. (Elateridae) are wood and subcortical predators. Species from the families Cerambycidae and Curculionidae develop on weakened parts of plants. The properties of the American bird cherry consisting in effective generative and vegetative reproduction, as well as a wide ecological amplitude – mean that the colonization of the plant by foliophagous and xylophagous species has little effect on limiting its expansion.
