The subject of this elaboration is a student group. This environment and various interactive processes occurring in it allowed us to assume the point of view defining a student group as a small social group. The author of the article presented the role of groups in the development of individuals and their influence on the process of acquiring knowledge and skills. He characterised key features of social groups and presented the contemporary interpretation of the concepts of a ‘group’ and ‘small group’. The article also presents the educational consequences of teachers’ inclusion of elements of group dynamics in the process of education.
