Properties of OSB/3 and OSB/4 boards depending on cyclic changes in humidity and air temperature. The effect of cyclically changing humidity at the temperatures of 20°C and 35°C on physical and mechanical properties of OSB/3 and OSB/4 boards with various thicknesses was investigated in this study. The investigations showed that cyclic changes in air humidity, irrespective of temperature, did not cause significant changes in water resistance of the tested boards, measured by their swelling in thickness and internal bond after the cooking test. Long-term action of air with the humidity of 30 and 90%, irrespective of the seasoning temperature, caused a deterioration of mechanical properties of the boards; however, even after a 12-week seasoning under established conditions only OSB/3 boards didn't meet the requirements defined in the standard in terms of their modulus of rupture both along the longer and shorter axis.

Zbadano wpływ oddziaływania cyklicznie zmieniającej się wilgotności w temperaturach 20°C i 35°C na fizyczne i mechaniczne właściwości płyt OSB/3 i OSB/4 o różnych grubościach. Badania wykazały, iż cykliczne zmiany wilgotności powietrza, niezależnie od temperatury, nie powodują istotnych zmian wodoodporności badanych płyt, mierzonej ich spęcznieniem oraz wytrzymałością na rozciąganie prostopadłe do płaszczyzn płyty po próbie gotowania. Długotrwałe natomiast oddziaływanie na płyty powietrza o wilgotnościach 30 i 90%, bez względu na temperaturę sezonowania, powoduje obniżenie ich właściwości mechanicznych, przy czym po 12 tygodniach sezonowania w ustalonych warunkach jedynie płyty OSB/3 nie spełniały wymagań normy w zakresie wytrzymałości na zginanie statyczne zarówno wzdłuż osi większej, jak i mniejszej.
