The studies were carried out on 71 cows White-Black breed. Twenty animals were primaparas and 51 multiparas and their offspring. There was assessed the yield, composition and quality of colostrum at day 1, 3, 5 and 9 after parturition in cows and the level of total protein and protein fractions in calves at day 5. It was found that multiparas produced more colostrum with a higher content of dry matter, total protein, whey protein and immunoglobulins. In consequence the calves contained a higher level of total protein (17.6%) and immunoglobulins ( 60%) in their sera. A rapid drop of the proteins in the colostrum at day 2 after parturition points to the need of scrupulous feeding of calves at day 1 of their life.
