The introduction a functioning market economy, both into Polish agriculture and food sector, arose many new, unexplored yet challenges experienced by agricultural producers, processors and traders. Progressing demand concentration, economic globalisation, world trade in food liberalisation as well as growing competition need new efforts and methods of activity being undertaken by all economic operators in the system of distribution of agri-food products. An ensuring the anticipated financial and social results to the economic operators requires not only further progress in the sectoral market organisation but also the existence of balanced relations and co-operation between its particular participants. Agricultural producers’ groups are regarded as the integral part of agricultural market organisation. Without their presence, it would be difficult to reach expected improvements both in farm production quality and quantity as well as in trade in agricultural products.
