Pędy wierzby wysuszono, rozdrobniono i zmielono, a następnie spalano je w piecu w temperaturach: 300°C, 600°C, 900°C i 1200°C przy natężeniu przepływu powietrza 8,0 dm³m⁻¹. Na powstawanie tlenków azotu NOx przy spalaniu biomasy wierzbowej największy wpływ wywarły temperatury spalania (66,8%), mniejszy - liczba lat odrastania pędów (7,0%) oraz współdziałania temperatury spalania biomasy z liczbą lat odrastania pędów (9,4%) i dodatkowo z terminem pobierania prób (5,7%), a względnie mały, chociaż istotny, termin poboru prób biomasy (0,6%), kombinacje nawozowe (0,3%) i klony wierzby (0,1%).

The study aimed at evaluating the effects of burning nine willow clones of various number of years of their regrowth and different fertilization on the content of nitrogen oxides NOx in the combustion gases. In November 2009 all willow shoots were cut in the experimental field including shoots after the first, second and fourth vegetation periods. Biomass samples were collected at the day of cutting and after six months of letting them on the field. Willow shoots were dried, crushed and ground and then burned in the furnace at the temperature of 300°C, 600°C, 900°C and 1200°C, at the airflow rate of 8.0 dm³m⁻¹. The formation of nitrogen oxides during the willow biomass burning was mostly affected by the temperature of combustion (66.8%), and less by the number of years of shoot regrowth (7.0%) and interaction of the biomass combustion and number of regrowth years (9.4%) and additionally with the terms of sampling (5.7%), and relatively small, although significant, the term of biomass sampling (0.6%), fertilizing combinations (0.3%) and willow clones (0.1%).
