The authors studied the protein fractions in the serum of dogs experimentally infected with Toxoplasma. Four dogs of the age 18 months to 3 years were given subcutaneously 6 or 12 millions of toxoplasmas. The infection run an acute course (toxoplasmosis acuta). The changes in the proteinogram were expressed by hypoalbuminaemia, increase of the fractions beta and gamma globulins. The proportion of the albumins to globulins was inverse. This picture corresponds to the proteinogram by Warstat (1956) for spontaneous toxoplasmosis in the dog. The authors found also a considerable increase of the alpha₂ globulins, what is in accordancc with the observation by Valée et al. (1961) and Panebianco and Alosi (1962) made also in experimental toxoplasmosis in dogs. An increase of the alpha₂ globulins in spontaneous toxoplasmosis in the dogs was observed by Groulade et al. (1960), but Warstat, however, does not pay to this fraction alpha₂ globulins any diagnostic value points rather to its applicability for prognostic purposes.
