The aim of this study was to determine the parameters of laser biostimulation in order to increase the resistance of willow Salix viminalis to heavy polluted soil of the waste heap of cement plant „Chełm”. The willow cuttings were irradiated with He-Ne laser and Ar laser before planting. The irradiation with He-Ne laser (1×180 J/m²) resulted in 50% increase in Pb and Cd content in the willow leaves, while combined irradiation with Ar laser (2×60 J/m²) and He-Ne (1×60 J/m²) resulted in 34% decrease in Cr content. The results indicate that biostimulation with laser light may become a powerful tool in land reclamation.
