Lifestyle, defined as a conscious choice of everyday behaviour affects one’s health in 50–60%. Factors such as environment, genetics and health care are less meaningful but not so significant level. Studying period is a very specific life phase, rich in situations which force independent and mature decisions for the first time. Their impact on one’s behaviour may be transient, but it can also greatly influence future life. The aim of this study is to determine percentage contribution of the eleven components of healthy lifestyle in a group of 165 students of tourism and recreation specialization and 76 students of public health specialization. The study was conducted with use of questionnaire proposed by Corbin Ch.B.et al. The results show that the subjects have knowledge of healthy lifestyle factors, they understand the physiological processes associated with the impact of these factors on human health and they are able to apple these skills in practice (prevention). However, they lack in motivation to actively participate (the will) and they have alarmingly low self-assessment of health (according to scale proposed by questionnaire’s authors).
