Constantly advancing processes of globalization, changing customer expectations and increasing competition are forcing business entities and national economies to continue the activity of innovation. Innovation is designed to ensure economic development in which economic activity and the level of production are increasing or the unemployment level is decreasing, etc. Unfortunately, along with economic development there is observed environmental degradation, depletion of natural resources and increasingly stronger impact of the global climate changes. For this reason, there is inevitable demand for ecological innovations, also known as eco-innovations. In general, they are intended to weaken or reduce the destructive human impacts by means of supporting economic growth.
