In 2006–2010, health status of two sour cherry cultivars Kelleris 16 and Debreceni Bötermö in an organic orchard was evaluated. The trees were planted in the spring of 2005. Every year one application of a copper preparation before blossom and two applications at the flowering were made. Additionally, the blighted twigs were cut off and since 2007 fallen leaves were removed from orchard. Cherry leaf spot was the most important disease, however, its occurrence depended on the weather conditions. Despite of leaf removal the disease was recorded at a significant level during the entire period of observation. A threat by bitter rot increased with the age of trees. Brown rot generally occurred with a low intensity, and bacterial cancer was not stated.
