Polski przemysł spożywczy jest w dobrej sytuacji ekonomiczno-fi nansowej. Wejście Polski do Unii Europejskiej było korzystne dla tego działu przemysłu, a światowy kryzys gospodarczy ujawnił się z pewnym opóźnieniem i tylko w niektórych obszarach tego działu przemysłu. Było to jednak zjawisko krótkotrwałe, gdyż już w 2009 roku sytuacja się odwróciła.

It can be stated that the Polish food industry in the fi rst years of Polish membership in the European Union was characterized by high dynamics of development. Sold production of this division has been increasing at 4-7% annually, and annual investment expenditures have increased by at least 50%. In mid of 2008, when revealed to the world economic crisis, the pace of development of the food industry decreased (up to 2-4%), nevertheless the industry proved to be resistant to the phenomenon of crisis. As a result of slowdown, there was only a small decrease in defi ning measures of economic and fi nancial situation of food producers. But this was only a temporary phenomenon, because in 2009, all economic and fi nancial indicators increased and reached recorded levels since the transition. Almost half of the food and beverage producers were located in the central provinces (Wielkopolska, Mazovia and Lódź) and in Silesia. Economic and fi nancial situation of companies in Mazovia province and Silesia province was better than the national average, and two other economic and fi nancial indicators have been relatively large.
