The purpose of this paper is to present the upbringing foundations and the most important achievements of a new Polish Scouting idea — the Scout Cavalry. More than ten years long history of this branch of Polish Scouting, the one involving a special kind of physical activity with stress on self-discipline and responsibility, has shown great usefulness of Cavalry in realising the Scouts' education goals. The link of some Scout Cavalry groups to Polish lancers tradition between WW I and WW II adds to these goals patriotic and civic education. Establishing a Scouts team as a special division of Polish Horse-riding Association is a remarkable example of official cooperation between national horse-riding team and Scouts.
