First documented records of Thaumetopoea processionea (L.) from Poland after many years are presented. A critical review of original domestic data, including unpublished museum material, is given. The appearance of the species in the Lower Oder Valley has been discussed in the light of its, persisting for nearly 40 years, expansion across Western and Central Europe. A short key to identification, allowing to distinguish the species from the related one T. pinivora (TREIT.) has been added.
