Les Acritarches de l'âge ordovicien moyen provenant du sondage d'Olsztyn IG 2 sont bien conservés et abondants. Ils sont représentés par les parafamilles suivantes: Acanthomorphitae, Diacromorphitae, Herkomorphitae et d'un sousgroupe incertain. Parmi les Acanthomorphitae, trois nouvelles espèces sont décrites: Baltisphaeridum bramkaense sp. n., B. semibulbosum sp. n. et Multipticisphaeridum olsztynense sp. n. On a discuté la répartition stratigraphique des espèces étudiées et leur corrélation avec le domaine baltique.

Opracowane Acritarcha z środkowego ordowiku wiercenia Olsztyn IG 2 są wyjątkowo liczne i dobrze zachowane. Należą one do Acanthomorphitae, Diacromorphitae, Herkomorphitae i 1 grupy o niepewnym stanowisku systematycznym. Wśród Acanthomorphitae, które są najliczniej reprezentowane, wyróżniłam 3 nowe gatunki. Są to: Baltisphaeridium bramkaense sp. n., B. semibulbosum sp. n. i Multiplicisphaeridium olsztynense sp. n. Opisany zespół Acritarcha wykazuje znaczne podobieństwo z równowiekowymi gatunkami regionu bałtyckiego: Szwecji, Estonii i Finlandii, gdzie występuje w podobnej facji węglanowo-marglisto-ilastej. Na 28 opisanych gatunków - 20 jest wspólnych (tabela 1). Należy również podkreślić brak tych zespołów w środkowym ordowiku, w sąsiadujących wierceniach Polski północno-wschodniej (Kętrzyn IG 1, Gołdap IG 1 i Pasłęk IG 1). Może to być wynikiem odmiennej facji lub też przynależności do odrębnej strefy nerytycznej basenu sedymentacyjnego środkowego ordowiku. Ta odrębność biotopów w środkowym ordowiku między obszarem Olsztyn a bardziej na północny wschód położonymi obszarami Kętrzyn - Gołdap stanowi potwierdzenie występowania w tym okresie elewacji N-S Kętrzyn - Stoniszki (Modliński 1973).
