The study on food acceptance of the two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae Koch) was carried out on 10 maize varieties. The two-spotted spider mite accepted all provided maize varieties. Females of the two-spotted spider mite, placed put on leaf cuttings of maize varieties fed permanently for the longest time on varieties Reduta and Junak. For the shortest time, however, the two-spotted spider mite remained in the phase of initial feeding. The time spent on seeking food varied from the longest period on varieties Bosman and Smolik to the shortest one on varieties Reduta and Junak. Having a choice females of the two-spotted spider mite, most accepted varieties Reduta, Junak, Dumka and Opoka, but least acceptance was recorded in case of Bosman, Smolik, Prosna and Glejt varieties.
