Four hundred eggs coming from state farms were examined in respect to the presence of Salmonella spp. Only in one case (0.25%) S. agona was stated on the shell of egg. In contrast, out of 300 eggs originating from small individual farms in 3 cases S. enteritidis was found on the shell (1%). Salmonellae were not found inside of the eggs.
