The aim of this work was to evaluate the influence of flurprimidol on development of the green peach aphid (Nectarosiphon persicae Sulzer) population in chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora Tzvelev) grown in pot. In 2010-2011 in the greenhouse ‘Safranel’ chrysanthemums were cultivated in 12 cm pots. Growth retardant flurprimidol (Topflor 015 SL) was applied as a single, foliar spray, at concentrations of: 0, 15 and 30 mg·dm-3. The control plants were sprayed with tap water at the same time. The peach aphids were placed on the plants in two terms, in each term on the different group of plants. In this experiment, it has been shown, that the number of aphids on the flurprimidol treated plants was lower than on the untreated plants. Mortality of aphids on plants treated with flur-primidol at concentration of 15 mg·dm-3 was up to 75%. On the plants treated with retardant at concentration of 30 mg·dm-3 was even up to 80% less aphids than on the control plants. Chemical name used: α-(1-methylethyl)-α-[4-(trifluromethoxy)phenyl]-5-pyrimidinemethanol (flurprimidol).
