The aim of the field trials carried out in 2007 and 2010 in common sunflower was to evaluate the selectivity of some herbicides. The active substances of herbicides used in the experiment were: linuron, linuron + acetochlor, pendimethalin, linuron + pendimethalin, prosulfocarb, linuron + cycloxydim, linuron + propaquizafop. Sensitivity of common sunflower plants to tested herbicides was evaluated visually as compared to the plants on untreated plots. Results indicated that the most selective herbicides to sunflower plants were pendimethalin and prosulfocarb. The remaining herbicides caused temporary phytotoxicity symptoms, which subsided six weeks after application.
