Field experiments were carried out in 2006–2008 at the Research Station of Department of Agronomy in Chylice on potatoes cultivars Ditta and Irga. The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of herbicide Sencor 600 SC in a new formulation in comparison to efficacy of Sencor 70 WG. The herbicides were applied pre-emergence, post-emergence and together pre and post-emergence at the same doses of the preparations, but at different doses of active substance – metribuzine. Sencor 600 SC was applied at the lowest doses of metribuzine in comparison to Sencor 70 WG. The dominant weed species were: Echinochloa crus-galli, Chenopodium album, Matricaria inodora, Amaranthus retroflexus and Solanum nigrum. Sencor 600 SC used in all treatments at the lowest doses of metribuzine showed a higher efficacy than Sencor 70 WG.
