The aim of the study was to evaluate insecticidal potency of a mixture of Bacillus thuringiensis MPU B9 and MPU B7 crystals against Leucoma salicis caterpillars and to determine the interaction between crystalline proteins of bacterial strains. The 50% lethal crystals concentration values (LC50) of strain MPU B7 and MPU B9 against insects were calculated and compared with the LC50 of the pesticide Foray against L. salicis. The LC50 of a mixture of crystals MPU B7 and MPU B9 against L. salicis was determined. The results indicated additive interaction of toxins MPU B7 and MPU B9. Higher insecticidal activity of MPU B9 crystals against L. salicis in comparison with that of the pesticide Foray destines this isolate for further studies in order to determine its utility in plant protection.
