A survey of the European Nightjar Caprimulgus europaeus was conducted in the Masovian Landscape Park (Central Poland) in spring 2020. A total of 71 pairs were recorded during two visits in 10 square plots (2 × 2 km) including potentially appropriate nesting habitats. The total number of pairs of the Nightjar in the Masovian Landscape Park was estimated at 120–160. The average density in the forest area was 11.8 pairs/10 km2. Compared to the survey from the 1990s, the numbers of the European Nightjar considerably increased. The highest ecological density (~50 pairs/10 km2) was noted on a heathland in inland dunes “Góry Łyse” with the adjacent forest thicket and clearings.
