The article analyses four types of approach to culture in planning development and spatial planning on the local level: cultural area, territorial marketing, cultural industry, and traditional approach to the cultural element in spatial planning. Also, the issue of availability of cultural goods in contemporary Poland is presented, including the standards applicable in that respect.
