Restocking of the narrow-clawed crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus Esch.) in central- eastern Poland. The programme of restocking the narrow-clawed crayfish is directly connected with the rapidly progressing extinction of native cray­fish species in Poland. No more that a dozen or so sites of this species remained in central-eastern Poland till the mid-ninetieth of the 20th century. Therefore, at the beginning of the 21st century a programme of the restitution of the narrow-cla- wed crayfish was set up. It consisted in hatching and rearing the crayfish in artificial conditions. Studies connected with reconstructing the stock of crayfish were conducted in several stages and consisted in making an inventory of waters useful for living of native crayfish. Waters devoid of American crayfish were taken into consideration. Water was characterized by optimal parameters for crayfish; potential hazards associated with water pollution were not identified. Altogether narrow-clawed crayfish were let out to 11 bodies of water located in 5 provinces. Several years later the success of reintroduction was tested to demonstrate adaptation of crayfish to new biotopes. Crayfishes were found in 7 out of 11 restocked water bodies. Works are continued.

Odbudowa pogłowia raka błotnego (Astacus łeptodactylus) w środkowo-wschodniej Polsce. Program odbudowy pogłowia raka błotnego w Polsce środkowo-wschodniej realizowany jest od 1999 roku. Rak błotny należy do rodzimych gatunków w wodach śródlądowych Polski. Prace prowadzone są w kilku etapach. Pierwszy dotyczył zinwentaryzwoania wód pod kątem występowania raków amerykańskich. Etap drugi polegał na typowaniu wód, optymalnych do reintrodukcji raka błotnego. Kryteriami wyboru wód był: brak raków amerykańskich, występowanie bezkręgowców wodnych charakterystycznych dla wód czystych lub mało zanieczyszczonych oraz brak w obrębie zlewni potencjalnych źródeł zanieczyszczenia. Równolegle z wyborem wód, rozbudowano wylęgarnie i podchowalnie przeznaczoną do uzyskiwania młodych raków błotnych, które po krótkim podchowie wypuszczano do wybranych zbiorników wodnych. Łącznie wytypowano 11 stanowisk, do których wypuszczono raki błotne. Po upływie kilku lat rozpoczęto odłowy kontrolne, których celem była ocena efektywności prac. Raki wykazano w 7 zbiornikach wodnych.
