The Avifaunistic Commission accepted the observation of the species made on 24 September 2017 in Strzelno as the natural occurrence, and assigned the record to category A. The decision was based on patterns of occurrence and phenology of migration of the Spur-winged Lapwing in central-eastern Europe, as well as the absence of signs of captivity origin of the focal individual.
