Ze względu na potencjał łagodzenia zagrożeń klimatycznych i zgodność z koncepcją samowystarczalności miast, miejskie ogrody i farmy cieszą się coraz większym zainteresowaniem. Ich rozwój jest jedną z nadziei na zrównoważoną urbanizację. Nowe źródła, akademickie i praktyczne, przynoszą wiarygodne informacje na podstawie których można wstępnie ocenić obecne uwarunkowania i potrzeby, a zatem i perspektywy rozwoju produkcji rolniczej w różnych kontekstach miejskich. W serii trzech artykułów przedstawiono analizę różnych koncepcji wprowadzania upraw do miast i szans na ich integrację z przestrzenią zurbanizowaną i społecznościami miejskimi.

Because of the potentially mitigating effect of community gardens and urban farms on climate, as well as visions for self-reliant cities, one can observe a growing interest in urban agriculture. Its development might support a hope for a sustainable urbanisation. New academic and practice-based sources provide actionable information for early-stage holistic assessment of conditions, needs, chances, and therefore perspectives of food production in various urban contexts. This series of three articles analyses different concepts of integration of agriculture with the city and the chances for its structural integrity with the urban space and urban communities.
